Ipswich Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Callum Connolly in the four two victory over Nottingham Forest at the weekend at Portman Road was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Connolly was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Ipswich played out a six-goal thriller against Nottingham Forest, eventually coming out on top by four goals to two at Portman Road. The on-loan Everton man starred, scoring the first and creating the third as the Tractor Boys kept pace with the play-off chasing pack.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Connolly for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Mark Oxley (Southend United), Ben Davies (Preston North End), Sean Morrison (Cardiff City), Mark Little (Bolton Wanderers), Sergi Canos (Brentford), George Thorne (Derby County), Callum Connolly (Ipswich Town), Mo Barrow (Reading), Lee Gregory (Millwall), Gary Hooper (Sheffield Wednesday), Ellis Harrison (Bristol Rovers).

Manager – Lee Johnson (Bristol City).
