£2 million man David Norris will not feature for the Blues again this season after undergoing an operation on his troublesome heel.

Norris was carrying an injury for sometime while playing for ex-club Plymouth but the Blues were hoping that an operation wasn’t necessary in curing the problem.

However, Norris will now be available for pre-season all being well and has been mentioned as a possible captain when, if expected, current skipper Jason De Vos retires at the end of this season.

As the old song goes, Fabian Wilnis is a blue and I am sure that he will always be welcome at Portman Road even if he is not offered a playing contract at the end of this season.

  • What on earth is everyone thinking? He’s been here for about 5 months and you think he’s worth captaincy? That’s mad, we’ve hardly seen any of him, so we cannot judge his consistency. Would it not be better to have a more experienced player as captain? But there’s our problem, no real experience from regulars at Ipswich…

  • Walters will stay anyway. I don’t reckon we’ll sell him and if, only if, we do, we’ll sell him for over 5 million I reckon. Now that we’ve got money, why would we want to sell him for less than that? I reckon he’s the best right-mid in the championship.
