Young defender Chris Casement has signed a new one-year deal at Portman Road.

Casement came through the ranks at Ipswich and was part of the side that won the FA Youth Cup in 2005. His current deal had come to and end.

However, the Northern Ireland U21 international has put pen to paper on a one-year deal despite making only three appearances for the Tractor Boys last season.

Manager Jim Magilton said ‘Chris will be with us for at least another year and I will be looking for him to really push on next season.’

The deal is probably going to be the same for Dean Bowditch should he sign a year-long deal, in that if he doesn’t make the grade next season, he will be released.
