The proposed friendly between the Blues and Canaries will not be going ahead this summer.

The game was pencilled in for Sunday, July 28, but after consultation with supporters, City have decided not to put the game on.

Insiders at Carrow Road suggest there was too much ill-feeling surrounding the chance of the game going ahead, while the club have cited work on a section of the ground as the reason it will not go ahead.

Norwich, who just about survived Premier League relegation, would suffer a huge blow had they put the game on and been beaten by Town, despite the calls on social media that Ipswich had not earned the right to play them.

Perhaps next year, when Ipswich are PL and City have been relegated, it will be a different story.
