Can Town Retain Their Hundred Percent Record?

Four games down and another forty two to go. The Championship season has only just begun and yet Town have a nine point lead on Fulham, as the two sides go head to head at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon.

If David McGoldrick is not called away on maternity leave, then the chances are Ipswich will be unchanged from the one that defeated Brentford a week ago.

Cole Skuse has been suffering with illness but should be fine according to manager Mick McCarthy and the rest of the squad is in fine fettle I am pleased to report.

The bench might make for an interesting read though. Both Flynn Downes and Tristan Nydam have received England under 19 call-ups and having impressed in midweek against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup, the expectation is that they will find a place on the bench again.

There may be room too on that bench for another player who was outstanding on Tuesday night. Ipswich born Luke Woolfenden may find himself once again in the mix because we still have very limited defensive cover and he can play equally well it seems at centre back and wing back. He looks like a man with a wise head on his young shoulders and with a bright future in the game.

Dean Gerken will once again act as cover for Bartosz Bialkowski in the goalkeeping department and I am convinced that Bersant Celina will be on bench warming duties if he does not start at the expense of Freddie Sears?

Fulham did the double over Town last term and they will be a serious threat this time too – although their league form has been disappointing to date.

The Tractor Boys 100 percent record will surely be severely tested though on Saturday afternoon but Fulham are so far emulating what we did last time around, with three draws from their first four league games, which is why they are so far behind us in terms of points on the board.

Town know that another win at Portman Road would break all records and ensure that the Blues go into the international break with another chance to be top of the tree!

Cardiff City face sixth placed QPR and they are the only side that could stay above us, if of course both sides are victorious.
