Bruce Makes it Five in a Row

Defender Alex Bruce has been named in the Championship Team of the Week following a good performance against Derby on Saturday.

The Blues defender is thought to be on his way out of Portman Road, but following injury to captain Gareth McAuley, he has forced his way back into the reckoning.

Bruce makes it five Ipswich players in a row to be named in the Team of the Week, with Owen Garvan being named in it on three of the last four occasions, joined by Kevin Lisbie three weeks ago. Alan Quinn was named in the team a fortnight ago.

The other ten players in the Championship Team of the Week were: Keiren Westwood (Coventry City), James O’Connor (Doncaster Rovers), Darren Ward (Watford), Daniel Fox (Coventry City), Jamal Campbell-Ryce (Barnsley), Richard Chaplow (Preston North End), Lee Williamson (Watford), Chris Iwelumo (Wolves), Bradley Wright-Phillips (Southampton) and Stephen Quinn (Sheffield United).
