Released Fulham defender and American international Carlos Bocanegra has been linked with a move to Championship sides Ipswich and Coventry.

Bocanegra, 29, has represented his country 52 times during an impressive career which has seen him play for and captain MLS side Chicago Fire and Fulham.

However, Bocanegra is rumoured to fancy a move to Coventry and the prospect of a reunion with former boss Chris Coleman over a move to Ipswich Town.

Town are also interested in Fulham teammate Dejan Stefanovic and are still in hot pursuit of Gareth McAuley who belongs to managerless Leicester City.

But it seems that Town fans will have to wait a few days before any transfers can be completed as Ipswich Town boss Jim Magilton is currently taking a well-earned break somewhere in the sun.
