Mick McCarthy is poised to offer former Rangers and Scotland defender Kirk Broadfoot the chance to join Ipswich Town.
Broadfoot, who will be 30 in August, has been offered a new deal to stay at Blackpool but Vital Football has learned he is open to a Portman Road switch.
McCarthy, who is currently in New York, will speak with the player and his agent on his return ready with a two year deal, with the possibility of a third year.
Derby County are also keen on the former St Mirren favourite who had a troubled time with rangers when they were in the SPL, and has represented his country four times at senior level.
