Daryl Murphy and Paul Green have been called up by new Republic of Ireland boss Martin O’Neill for their friendly against Serbia.
O’neill sat through Ipsiwch’s dire 0-0 with Blackpool yet still decided to give Muprhy another go in the national squad and also picked Blues new signing Green.
The former Celtic and Sunderland boss explained why to the Irish press
“I thought Murphy played very well. I spoke to Mick who has been happy and if Robbie was not going to be involved, I thought, right, let us get him involved,” he said..
I have only seen him once, live, but thought he did great (against Blackpool).”
Meanwhile, Christophe Berra has ben picked for Scotland.
