All Change At Luton Tonight

Due to the number of games, Ipswich could play this month – probably seven but possibly eight, manager Paul Lambert has decided to ring the changes tonight.

In goal, we will see for the first time in action goalkeeper Will Norris, who is on a season-long loan deal from Premier League outfit Wolves, and there should be a place at the back for James Wilson, who impressed on his debut against Burton Albion.

Into the side too, we can expect to see Corrie Ndaba in a central defensive role – probably replacing young Luke Woofenden who is likely to be rested. The Town manager was candid about the prospects of changes this evening and said, “You can’t keep flogging the same players game after game, I’ve said that from day one, that’s why the squad needs strengthening a little bit.”

In midfield, Emy Huws is likely to get a start; along with Andre Dozzell and Jordan Roberts may come into the picture upfront at the expense of James Norwood. Flynn Downes has demanded a place in the side given his links to the home side, and his wish might be granted.

Winger Armando Dobra and perhaps too left-back Bailey Clements might play some part as well, in a game that Lambert would still like to see his team win, and there might be some game time for Josh Emmanuel as well.

Our record has been appalling in this competition for many years, and this encounter away to The Hatters will be another test of nerve. They are these days a league above and are clear favourites to progress given their home advantage.

That said, Town have nothing to lose in this one, and will want to retain their unbeaten record to the new season.
